Windows 10: The Default Pathway is not available

Get this problem time and time again, I have TWO different network adapters, and this is essentially the THIRD network adapter this problem keeps happening to because I have recently changed my motherboard and done a fresh install of windows recently. I also bought a separate network adapter card just to see if that would help, which it doesn't.


I consistently get kicked of the internet connected to router through ethernet cable and then the 'troubleshooter' laughable then tells me this is the problem, the 'default pathway' is not available and sometimes it says it doesn't have a 'valid IP address'. Sometimes the troubleshooter resetting it will reconnect it for a bit before falling over again, but often I need to re-start and reset my router to cure it for a little while and then it comes back.


I have tried everything that has been suggested on google searches for this issue, rolling back drivers, updating drivers, manual IP etc. etc. nothing fixes it permanently.


AND this problem consistently happens more often after Windows Updates.


AND this is a fresh install version of windows because I updated my motherboard and processor recently.


Which is clearly means its a Windows problem and by the thousands and results you get when you search for this, its clearly a problem Windows has had for years and no one has fixed it.

Lost default photo viewer after profile rebuild

Thanks Brink. I've tried those steps before i started searching Google. After the profile rebuild i don't have the Photo app listed to choose to make it default in either the system settings for default apps or the Open With option.

I can't even find it doing a search. Seems to have been removed somehow with the profile rebuild, which doesn't make sense.

Might be helpful to list what i've done I've done the open with check, the choose default program in the system menu, tried that in device manager default programs also. I've checked the programs and features Turn windows features on/off and it's not listed there (never thought it was but that was a suggestion), searched the MS Store, it's not listed there either.

I don't like playing in the registry unless i have defined steps and haven't found anything for this yet, just the Win7 version like in my OP.

• Press Windows key + X.
• Go to control panel.
• Go to Default Programs.
• Click on Microsoft Picture Viewer and set it to default.
• Check if the issue is resolved.
