  1. The issue with feature updates

    Hey everyone,

first of all, this is gonna be a bit of a rant, so if you don't care about the opinion of a random guy on the internet, feel free to leave at any point. Also, I might not be fully up to date, since I'm using a Windows Version from a year ago; the reason for which I will explain later, but the point I'm trying to make still applies.

So let's start with the tl;dr: I wish Microsoft wouldn't just force features upon their users without a way to toggle them off, if the user desires. This is quite frankly something Microsoft could learn from Linux, if there's something the user doesn't like, then there's most likely a way to change it.

A bit of a concrete example: About a year ago, Microsoft pushed update 1709 for Windows 10. This introduced the feature of mouse sensitivity adapting to the display scaling of the screen. For most use-cases that might be a perfectly valid change, and if you don't like it, just set your mouse sensitivity lower in the settings, right? Except, that this only works for simple setups. A single monitor, or maybe multiple, that are all set to the same scaling. Which is exactly what my setup ISN'T. Just for reference, I have a 4k monitor with 150% scaling as my main, and 2 older 1080p monitors with 100% scaling; which due to their size differences roughly results in the same mouse speed on all three monitors WITHOUT the mouse sensitivity scaling. With it turned on, my mouse either goes supersonic on my 4k screen or slow as a snail on my 1080p monitors (depending on the mouse sensitivity set in the mouse settings).

And yeah, sure there's "workarounds" for that problem, but none without drawbacks. Would it be that difficult to just have a little checkbox for turning that feature on and off? Or heck, even a registry key would work for me! But to my knowledge even a year later, there's no way to turn it off.

And yes. I am absolutely aware, that any regular user just doesn't care. Most people don't even notice any changes after an update, and my specific issue is one that only occurs with very specific setups. But it's something that's been bothering me for a while now, and I just had to get it off my chest.

    :)

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.
