Windows 10: The Outer Worlds does not launch anymore

I bought The Outer Worlds on October 24, 2019 and had some trouble downloading it. After updating my computer, the game was installed and I was able to play. I played the game for a little while until just recently December 3, 2019 the desktop icon for the game disappeared. The icon was replaced by a white folder icon that would just redirect me to the Microsoft Gaming Services item in the Microsoft Store. I cannot find the game files anymore, and the game will not update because of an error message that prompts me to restart my computer or wait a little while. I would greatly appreciate any help that anybody could offer me.

The other day i noticed the outer worlds icon disappeared from my taskbar where i'd pinned it. the space is there and when i right click it it shows outer worlds. when i try to launch from there or the windows store, nothing happens

Found this article randomly, you should check if you have windows 10 "N" version.

I understand your query related to The Outer Worlds not launching on your PC. For further clarity on the issue, please respond to the questions below.

1. Which build version of Windows 10 are you using currently?
   
2. Are you aware of any changes made to the PC prior to which you weren’t facing this issue?

Meanwhile, I would suggest you to try resetting the Store Packages and see if that helps.

1. Press Windows + X keys together and click on
   Windows PowerShell (Admin).
   
2. Accept the UAC prompts, if you receive any
   
3. Now copy paste the command and hit Enter:
   
   Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers -Name Microsoft.WindowsStore | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml” -Verbose}
   
4. Once the command is executed, run the below command:
   
   Get-AppXPackage | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"
   
5. Restart the PC.
   

After restarting the PC try launching the game and see if it is working fine.
