Windows 10: The referenced account is currently locked out but no password used

Guys. Can anyone please help? I just restarted my pc due to a blue screen and now it says "The referenced account is currently locked out and may not be logged on to."I dont have any other accounts in my pc and I dont even have a password. Please help.

Sorry for the late reply and thanks for sharing additional info. Since there's no issue with your Microsoft account, the error might be caused by multiple incorrect password entry and it usually gets resolved after waiting for a couple of hours before retrying but if its still the same after a day, I suggest following the steps in the link below to help you troubleshoot.

Never set password - The referenced account is currently locked out and may not be logged into

I bought a new Asus laptop with Windows 11. Everything worked when I first used it, but I forgot to set the password for the device. Apparently this is required to log into Windows. I shut off the device, and when I later turned it on, the login screen brought me to the "Owner" user account. When I click "sign in" it says "The referenced account is currently locked out and may not be logged into."

I have tried:



- Shift + Restart and entering Safe Mode (it still says account is locked out).

- Reinstalling Windows 11 while keeping all old files (it still says locked out).

- Accessing the Command Prompt with "net user administrator /active:yes" (it says the command is active but still locked out).

- Registering the device with my Asus account (it says the device is already registered. Not sure how, it's brand new).

- Registering the device with Microsoft (it doesn't recognize the device, presumably as it's not a Microsoft laptop).

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
