Windows 10: The software shows 2 RAM slots but can't find the second slot?

Toshiba has ended support for laptops since 2016 so I am writing here. If anyone can help me, I would be very much grateful to you.


My laptop is Toshiba Satellite C55 B5296 Windows 10 Home upgraded from Windows 8.1


My laptop is about 10 years but fulfilled all my needs so never had to change it. It was running slow so I decided to upgrade the RAM. I go to the task manager and it shows this so I thought; Yes I can upgrade my RAM.





Just to make sure I also run a third-party softwareCPU-Z to make sure;











It also show dual RAM configuration. I dissemble my laptop and I only see 1 slot. I thought maybe there's another layer to dissemble but nothing. Where is the second slot all the programs were showing me?


Later I managed to pull this out from the internet and it shows everything completely differently.





It shows everything completely differently. It says the RAM is not user upgradable. Then why on Earth are the task manager and CPU-Z misguiding me, and even more it didn't even mention that the system is using DDR3L. The programs only showed DDR3. Why did these programs misguide me the entire time from the beginning? And is there still a way to upgrade my RAM?

Ram slot

Greetings my friend. Like 'Mike P', my dell has only two slots as well. There are several laptops that have four (4) ram slots. Lenovo, ASUS, some HP's and some dell's. I would suggest going to a website like newegg.com, or other computer accessory place,
and looking at their memory/ram selections. Reading their details should provide some insight as to the number of slots.

Of course, if your budget allows, the more ram you have, the better the laptop will be.

1. (2) Supports two (2) modules inserted into either the red slots or the black slots as onepair of Dual-channel memory con guration. We suggest that you install the modulesinto slots A2 and B2 for better compatibility.
   

 

Windows 10: RAM not recognised in the number 2 slot

Ok so I had a problem where my laptop would not start at all so I went and search for help turns out it was the ram that was not properly place or something I open it up take the ram off then put it back on and it worked my laptop worked but I had 4gb
and then it got downed to 2gb and 1.48 usable so I open it again take of the rams again test ram slot number 1 with all 2 rams ram slot number one worked test ram slot number 2 with all and it didn't work at all I test them individually and they worked fine
at ram slot number 1 but the second slot doesn't seem to be working and reading the ram that is placed there so I got 2gb now how do I fix this problem? and why did it happen? it was working fine the other day then I woke up to find this problem
