Windows 10: THE Solution for unable to open "photos" error using Windows 10 [File system error -2147219196]

I have had this problem for a very long time. -- unable to open "photos" error using Windows 10 [File system error -2147219196]

I deleted "Photos" several times and, then, re-installed it. I used "CMD", and many, many other methods all of them from Internet. for more than one years. None of them work.


Yesterday, I accidentally saw one command I haven't tried it before. I have no idea about that commend. Anyway, I tried and it worked. The problem and other problems were all resolved. My old computer back to normal.


Following were my steps: I am not 100% sure since I did not expect it could happen so I did not write it down step by step.


Right click on the Windows logo
Type PowerShell
Right click on Windows PowerShell App Select "Run as Admin"
In the next window, choose YES

Type suggest "copy" the following command:

either

Get-AppxPackage -allusers Microsoft.Windows.Photos Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$$_.InstallLocation\AppXManifest.xml"}

or,

Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$$_.InstallLocation\AppXManifest.xml"}


I am not sure which one I used to fixed my problem. I am not sure whether the both commands are the same. Try the first one first! Good Luck!

Press Enter ** Then, Be patient to wait! I takes a while to complete. You might see a lot of messages showed up continuously. Some of them looks very strange to me. Some of them look like repeating it by itself!

Wait for the command to be successfully executed. If you are an expert, you should know when it completed. If you just like me, know nothing, take a very long ......... break. Then, come back!

Restart your PC/Lap Top.
