    Error: Specified driver invalid when trying to print

    I have just installed a brand new Epson printer, but when I try to print I get a message "Specified driver invalid". I got this message with the old printer and thinking the printer was the problem I bought a new one. Note this only happened after I did
    a reboot. My computer is running Windows 10. Please help

    I understand that you are facing issues while using the printer on your PC. For further clarity on the issue, please respond to the questions below.



    1. What is the exact model of the printer?
    2. Which build version of Windows 10 are you using currently?
    3. How is the printer connected to the PC?
    4. How did you install the drivers for the printer?


    Refer the article Which version of Windows operating system am I running?



    Meanwhile, I would suggest you to try troubleshooting the printer using the Windows printer troubleshooter. Refer the articles

    Fix printer problems     and
    Fix printer connection and printing problems in Windows 10     and see if that helps.



    You can also try changing the registry settings for the printer and see if you are able to print.



    Note: Important this section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow
    these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs

    1. Press Windows key + R, to open
      Run       dialog box.
    2. Type regedit and click on OK.
    1. Now navigate to the location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\PostSPUpgrade
    2. Right click on PostSPUpgrade and click on
      Delete.
    3. Click on Yes.
    4. Restart the PC.

    Hey Dj Urko, I am trying to install the realtek driver and I get the error 0x0001. I have disabled secure boot and Driver signature. I have the latest win 10 build. What am I doing wrong? Can u post the complete list of steps that I have to take? I have an asus z170 with alc1150.
