Right, I am all out of ideas.

So first of all, here's a touching story (for context):

One night I was watching a youtube video a when I finished it, I went to take a shower, but I still wanted to watch something when I return so I left the tablet running. It was pluged in so the auto sleep mode was disabled. When I returned, the screen was black, but not the black when it is in sleep mode or turned off, you could still see the LED display backlight. But I still thought it went to sleep mode for some reason so I hit the spacebar as I always do when I want to wake it up. But it didn't wake up, the youtube video I was watching before I went to shower started playing instead (the screen was still black, I could only hear it). Then I tried to use the touch screen, but it had the same effect, it just unpaused the video. So I was like what the fuck and I didn't really want to deal with it, I had some tabs with shit for school open so I couldn't really turn it off so I just closed it (it is a tablet with a removable keyboard so it works like a laptop) so it goes into the sleep mode. I tried to wake it up by opening it again, hoping that it would maybe fix it but to no avail. The screen was still black. So by this point I was like fuck it, I'll just leave it in sleep mode for the night and I'll go to sleep since I have a fucking math exam tomorrow (fuck math) and I really don't want to waste my time with this. So I did. When I woke up I just unplugged it and took it to school like that, didn't even use it. When I returned home I opened it and the screen was back. So you know, I was happy and I tried to log in and nothing, I hit the spacebar to bring up the log in screen and nothing. The keyboard wasn't working. I didn't really thing much of it, it sometimes disconnets on its own whne you ajust the angle and when you move it again it reconnects. So I tired and still nothing. I tried disconnecting it manually, cleaning the ports with a gust of air and putting it back. Nothing. So I tried the touchscreen and it suprisingly worked. The virtual keyboard poped up and I typed in the password, hit enter and I am in. So now I am trying to figure out why the keyboard isn't working. The first and last thing that I tried was to restart the tablet. And it worked, now I have the keyboard back, but I lost the touch screen and I was forced into a tablet mode when I always got into deskop mode when I turned the tablet on. So then I tried to get the touch screen and desktop mode back. I got the desktop mode back by going into settings > system > tablet mode and there was a pop up box and above it it read "When I log in" and I sellected "Use the desktop mode" instead of the harware based one and I restarted the damn thing. Now only the touch screen remained and only now I have noticed that the sound wasn't also working. The icon had a rex X on it and when I moused over it it said "No output audio device installed" and when I clicked it it started the troubleshoot that found nothing. So I left the touch screen proble and went to deal with the sound problem thinking that maybe I can solve both of them at once, that they are connected. So I ran the troubleshoot again, scan my system for bullshit with the lenovo scan, I tried to update the drivers in device manager but there were no drivers to update, the whole sound part with the drivers that is supposed to be there wasn't there (not even when you show hidden shit). Not even the speakers or mic. So the last thing that I came up with was to download the sound driver from the official lenovo webside and install it from the file, which I did, restarted, and the drivers showed up in the device manager. But still no sound, still "No output audio device installed" message. And when I open the driver's or speaker's properties it says that the hardware is not connected. Fuck me.

So now, it is either Windows being Windows and fucking with the drivers for touch screen and sound or the hardware itself is fucked and I can throw this piece of shit tablet away. It doesn't detect the sound card or the speakers at all, like there are not there, but they are, it is a fucking tablet for god's sake.

Anyway, if you guys have any ideas, be sure to share. If you need any more info I will be glad to elaborate.

The tablet is: Lenovo Ideapad MIIX 300-10IBY

The audio devices are all Intel.

    :)

  3. Windows tablet touch screen and sound issues

Thank you so much for that, I installed the package in the link and that fixed the sound right away but the touch screen ended up being listed as an unknown device in device manager. I had found a link yesterday that was just drivers so with a bit off searching
that showed me which of the unknown was the touch screen, and the other was the gyro, I installed the drivers through device manager, restarted (because before the restart the touch screen gave a code 41, I think it was, which I had expected) and now it’s
    all working again.

So, once again, thank you very much. Without your help I would’ve probably thrown my hands in the air and given up on it by now.

Touch screen disabled in Windows 10

    Hi David,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check, if it helps:

Method 1: Try to run a inbuilt
    Hardware troubleshooter
    and check.

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with hardware and devices. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your touch Screen. Refer these steps:

    • Press Windows key +X, select
      Control panel.

    • Change the view by option on the top right to
      Large icons.

    • Click on troubleshooting
and click on the view all option on the left panel.

    • Run the Hardware and devices troubleshooter.

    • Follow the on-screen instructions and check.
Method 2.Try updating the Touch screen drivers from the manufacturer's website and check if the issue persists.

Follow the steps to update the touch Screendrivers:

    • Press Windows key + X key and click
      Device Manager.
    • Expand the Sound, Video and game controllers.
    • Right-click on the Sound card and click on
      Update driver software.

    • Restart the computer and check.
Hope this helps. If the issue remains unresolved, please get back to us and we would be happy to help.
