Windows 10: The Tv and Movies App is running poorly and trimming videos with the Microsoft Photos App...

It started 2 weeks ago. Now most of the times when I open an MP4 file to trim it, it has to load for like 10 seconds, which had never happened in the 4 years I've had this pc. As a workaround I tried trimming videos with the Photos app which opens smoothly, but I open the trimmed video it looks like an annoying brightness got added that wasn't there while I was trimming the video. Is there any solution for both of these problems?

Photos app - trim a video - error

Hello, I am trying to use the built-in Windows 10 Photos app to trim a video. I have the video playing in the Photos app and click "Trim Video" at the top. I move the sliders to select the start and end points. I click "Save a copy" at top-right. The app says "It looks as though you don't have permissions to save changes to this file. Try saving a copy instead." Having just clicked "Save a copy", I am confused as to why this error message is appearing. I've tried copying the .mp4 to my VIDEOS folder on C: drive with the same result. Some research has suggested to run the Photos app as Administrator, but I can't figure out how to do that. Any suggestions on how to trim a video would be appreciated! Thanks,

 

Unable to save trimmed video in Microsoft Photos

I use Movies & TV to play my videos and use the trim feature on their to make them shorter and save them so I can get rid of unnecessary space. The Trim is done through Microsoft Photos and up until a week ago it worked perfectly fine. Now when I trim the video to my liking and hit save & copy and select the destination it just says 'Unable to Save'. I have tried to reset and repair the photos app and uninstalled/reinstalled Movies & TV app and nothing has worked.
