Windows 10: The Windows Security Center service can't be started. DWORD naming.

Tried all steps up to #8 would not let write name in DWORD why? what can I do?

Windows 10 Security Center Service can't be started

I am also having a probem starting windows security center. When I did the following step: I found the following disabled:

Security center properties

Windows update properties

Security center WSCSV

Remote registry

net.tcp port sharing

internet connection sharing

COMODO LPS launcher

COMODO Internet security

Auto time zone update

Should these be enabled and if so how do I enable them?

I have no defense toward any threats at this time. Please help!!

Method 1: I suggest you to follow the steps provided below:

• Press Windows key + R on the keyboard.
• Type “Services.msc” without quotes and press Enter.
• Locate for Remote Procedure Call (RPC) and Windows Management Instrumentation.
• Check whether the following services are Started and set to Automatic.

Are you running any other AV or did you have one running in the past? If you didn't use an uninstaller for the AV, then the remnants of it could be causing the problem. Normally any time you install an AV it disables Defender by default.

If you are getting any error codes please list those, that will be helpful in helping you.

As torre suggested, might be a good idea to do a reset or even a reinstall.

windows security center disabled...

ok i have reinstalled windows xp, home this time, and first i installed avast then updates and then everything i had on before.

after installing dvd fab platinium 4 avast had a virus error at C:\Documents and Settings\Josh\Local Settings\Temp and the file is a registry entry called 1.reg i have tried to repair, delete blah blah blah and it keeps comming back. and prior to installing dvd fab platinium my security center worked properly now it is back to the same problem...

i opened the registry entry 1.reg with notepad and this is what it says

if any one with more knowledge about this could help me it would be super!!! i can tell that it has to do with my internet connection and stuff but as far as just what it is doing i am not sure.

i just uninstalled the dvd fab platinium program and i will run registry mechanic and avast and then reboot and see if the security center is back to normal again....


also after installig the dvd fab program a windows firewall alow or deny window popped up asking to allow win32 somthing i dont remember exactly what it was, but i didnt allow it...
