Windows 10: There is a problem with portable devices

    There is a problem with portable devices


    I connected the smartphone to the PC via USB but the device was not visible. Then I went to Device Manager and updated MTP in Portable Devices. Still the device did not open. Then I manually updated MTP in Portable Devices in Device Manager and the device opened. But as soon as I connected another smartphone, the device did not open. Then I went to Device Manager and updated manually and the device opened. Then I connected another device and again the same problem appeared. The device driver is not getting installed automatically. I have also fully updated Windows 11. Still the problem is not

    mozart wont register on portable devices

    followed steps to troubleshoot error code c101002e,tried expand portable devices and my phone is not listed. Although zune does?

    A corrupted driver, missing driver, and hardware issue are a few of the reasons why you are experiencing challenges connecting a device to your laptop. Before we proceed, we would like to confirm the following:



    • You’re using the same Windows 10 build as your laptop.
    • You’re connecting the portable device using the same cable cord.
    • You’re using the same version of the driver on your desktop and laptop.


    If the statements above are all correct, there's a possibility that it is hardware related. To further isolate your concern, we suggest that you try to connect the portable device using a different port on your laptop.

    Portable HDD full but isn`t..

    Hi Graham,

    In most cases, this may already point to a hardware issue. We suggest doing the following to properly isolate this:

    • Connect your portable HDD to a different port.
    • Connect your portable HDD to a different PC.
    • Connect other storage devices.

    If you find that other storage devices work properly and your portable HDD still encounters an error with other computers, then this is already a hardware issue and you'll need to get in touch with the device manufacturer for assistance and troubleshooting.
