Windows 10: Thinkpad 13 2nd gen battery options not showing?

So, this happened to me a few days ago, where I was unable to control the battery options (where you can go into power saving mode manually, and choose between best battery life or best performance) by clicking on the battery icon in my taskbar. My brightness was also unable to be changed for some reason either with physical buttons on the keyboard or manually via going to Display Settings.



I usually hibernate my laptop, but I restarted it today as there were some updates I had to install plus I thought a restart might help with the issue. Glad to say that the display brightness can now be changed and is back to normal, but battery options/settings are still unchangeable. I ran Power Troubleshooter in the Settings and it showed nothing wrong besides sleep times being too long which it fixed. Any tips or solutions would be helpful. Below is a screenshot I took to help show the problem I had.

Lenovo Recalls 208,000 ThinkPad Batteries

On March 1, 2007, Lenovo voluntarily recalled certain 208,000 9-cell lithium-ion batteries. These batteries were manufactured for use with ThinkPad notebook computers that shipped worldwide between November 2005 and February 2007. All ThinkPad R60, R60e Series, ThinkPad T60, T60p Series and ThinkPad Z60m, Z61e, Z61m, and Z61p Series with 9-cell 10.8V, 5.2 Ah batteries with part number FRU P/N 92P1131 are being recalled. All affected batteries will be replaced free of charge. Lenovo suggests those computers with defective units remove the battery and use the AC adaptor until a replacement has arrived.

Which pen would work with Thinkpad X1 Carbon Gen 2?

Hi All,

I've been having a VERY difficult time identifying a pen that would work with my thinkpad...I think the lenovo support agent was also having a hard time identifying one, which is surprising, as it has a touch screen on it.

Here is the specifics of my machine:

X1 Carbon 2nd Gen (Type 20A7, 20A8) Laptop (Thinkpad)

Any advice would be most appreciated.

Lenovo is getting all ready to launch their new ThinkPad T440s Ultrabook. Powered by Intel's latest and greatest 4th Generation Haswell Core processor, the ThinkPad T440s gives you the option to pick either a 1600 x 900 resolution IPS display or a 1920 x 1080 Full HD IPS panel, both 14" in size.

Other features include NFC, Power Bridge battery (which allows you to swap batteries without having to power down the device) and a precision enhanced keyboard. The 3.5 pounds weighing Ultrabook launch date is not known as of yet, but seeing as it is already listed with a lot of details, the date can't be too far away.
