    This app can't open/ Firewall error


    Hello there,

    After trying an hour to fix some problems, I came no conclusions.

    My firewall suddenly went off and I can't change that: Windows Defender Firewall can't change some of your settings.

    Furthermore, apps like MyAsus, Nvidia Control Panel or Movies and TV can't open.

    I have everything updated and no virus.


    Can you please help me? I've tried everything. Thanks!

    Windows Firewall blocks App Store from downloading new apps

    Hi,

    Let's try to check if the app store you're referring to if it's really blocked by Windows Firewall. See these steps:

    • Open Windows Firewall from the taskbar >
      Firewall & network protection       > Allow an app through firewall.
    • A new window will show up containing the list of the apps that ca be allowed through Firewall.
    • Look for the app you want to be accessed, and make sure that the Domain, Private and Public are ticked. That would allow the app store to be accessed.

    Let us know what happens after doing the suggestion.

    Mail app will not open on 10041.

    Hello Adam,

    This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it. This app can't open/ Firewall error :)

    In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

    • Open powershell as administrator
    • Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
    • Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)

    • Open Control Panel.
    • On Control Panel, search windows firewall.
    • Click Allow an app through Windows Firewall below Windows Firewall.
    • Look for Remote Assistance. Ensure its communication is
      enabled       (All the boxes of this item are ticked).
