what happens if I do nothing to black square behind some

I have those black squares behind my folders. My question is what happen if I leave them? If these black squares are difficult to get rid of. Is it good to leave them there? Do I lose any information? Please explain

Killing these Black Squares Under Folders!

This black square business happens way too frequently on random folders. Visible in details... 8143a8b4-ac96-47dc-8edd-546e071e94f9.jpg

I have lots of random folders like the one shown in the pic above (a strangle black square underneath some of my folders). I have tried rebuilding icon caches, deleting thumbs.db file from the whole partition...etc. I have the Radeon HD 5450 card wit the latest
catalyst driver for Windows 10 installed. I tried deleting this driver and use the latest drivers from Microsoft but still these black nasty folder backgrounds appear randomly and for no reason. Is this a bug in Windows 10 or what? and how can I fix it for
    ever?
