Windows 10: This is crazy . . .

I noticed there are no icons on my desktop?
I have, a slideshow running. But, that's it?
If I run, "quick access". I can see, everything.
All, the files. All, the folders?

When I click on, desktop. I see, all the icons.
Just the way, they are. When there on, the desktop.
So I tried, clicking "copy". Where, I see everything.

I went back, to the desktop. With, the folder, I copied.
I clicked "paste", of the desktop. It opened up, right there..
But left nothing, So, that means,
Nothing shows. on my desktop?

Running "Quick Access". Every time, I use my computer.
Is just not, what I want to do!
I want, my desktop back! Anyone, have any thoughts?

Fan going crazy . . .

Hi Somebody50, I have a few suggestions that shouldn't be that difficult.

1) Check for a BIOS update. While you're at the manufacturers website, check for chipset and display drivers or other recommended driver updates. Please ask if you require assistance.

2) If your PC is still misbehaving after updating drivers, perform a clean boot to determine if any third-party apps are creating or contributing to this fan issue.

3) Please update your details under "My Computer" and list a model number, cpu and drive info (SSD or HDD).

4) Check if you have any warranty coverage available.

There are more tests available if these don't provide sufficient info, one step at a time.

Scroll down to list of revisions. Die shrinks are not consumer relevant with consoles. They bring no performance changes because consistency is the entire point of them. Unless you're batshit crazy Nintendo that is, then you get the "new 3DS" half step BS.

 

Windows 10 Start search no longer works

Many people are having this issue, and there's a lot of crazy suggestions out there. I've tried them all, and nothing worked until I did this:

• Delete the directory: C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.Cortana_cw5n1h2txyewy [REBOOT]
• Run the following command from Powershell with Admin privileges: Add-AppxPackage -Register "C:\Windows\SystemApps\Microsoft.Windows.Cortana_cw5n1h2txyewy\AppxManifest.xml" -DisableDevelopmentMode [REBOOT]

For Step 1, you'll have to boot to a WinPE drive, or maybe Safe Mode because the directory will be locked. But, if you do these two steps in this order it will fix the problem.
