    I have neither COM Surrogate in TASK MGR nor DLL files...


    I have the same thing,COM surrogate and dll not listed,weird that some people have it and others don't. I turned off 'Always show icons never thumbnails' as someone said this may help but it didn't.

    2 COM Surrogate running in Task Manager

    I recently open the task manager and I saw only for a few seconds a second COM surrogate, now I'm not well-versed in computing, so I don't know if this is a virus or something worse. I've installed Kaspersky Antivirus and it hasn't detected any viruses
    or malware. is the second COM surrogate a virus?

    Three COM Surrogates in task manager

    COM Surrogate problem

    I have a piece of legacy software that will not run under windows 10. When I open it, I get two instances of COM Surrogate that show in Task Manager briefly (only for a second or two) and then disappear, leaving only the executable in Task Manager sitting
    idle. Is there a way to bypass Com Surrogate for this application? I've tried all of the compatibility modes to no avail and I've added dllhost.exe and the executable in question to the DEP exclusion list.
