    Thumbnails for video files gone after the Movies & TV app updated Windows 10


    Before the update, video files included a thumbnail showing a frame from the video, with borders that looked like old-school film stock. However, a while ago, new icons were launched for the Windows 10 apps; an occurrence to which the loss of thumbnails can be imputed. All other file types' icons work fine, except for video files', which, instead of the old preview of the video, displays the Movies & TV app icon. How do I get the old thumbnails back without downgrading?

    Windows 10 Movies & TV App: No Sound

    Hi,

    I suggest you to un-install and re-install Movies & TV App and check. Follow the steps:

    • Press Windows Key.
    • Type Windows Powershell.
    • Right click on it and select Run as administrator.
    • Type in the following command to un-install Movies & TV App.
    get-appxpackage *Microsoft.ZuneVideo* | remove-appxpackage

    Note: The Movies & TV App can be reinstalled using the Store App or by following the link mentioned below. You will need to exit the Store app if it is already open before reinstalling the app.

    Get Movies & TV - Microsoft Store

    Hi,
