  2. Tiling Explorer folders in Windows 10?

    Hello Terry,

Windows 10 offers a Task View feature which, as you have mentioned in your post, would show all the Windows open on your computer.

We suggest you to submit a feedback on this. You can do so by typing Windows Feedback
in Cortana, the Windows search box on the task bar and log in with your Microsoft account.

For further queries, feel free to post back.

    Regards.

    Tiling the Explorer folders?

No, you can't do it in 10, in fact this ability was actually removed back in 7 and replaced with Aero-snap
    http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/11073...-in-windows-7/

In 10 'snap' has finally got quite useable. Now on snapping to the side you get a choice of which other window you want to occupy the other half. Now snap the next one to a corner and it occupies a quarter of the screen, with a choice of which other one should occupy the other quarter. Inevitably, there's a tutorial on it....

Thanks Bree, although disappointing to learn that flexibility has been lost.

Disappointing to loose an old friend, I can sympathise there. But the (feature-poor) Aero snap in Windows 7 has matured a lot for Windows 10. It's actually quite useful now. Give it a try, you may be pleasantly surprised.

    Cascading?

    You mean like this?
Make new toolbar (desktop) and you have all cascading folders... You can make folder with shortcuts and make toolbar out of it...

If you want the older style All Programs menu, you have to install either Classic Shell or Start10.

Thanks for all the further replies. @bro67: I am using Classic Start menu. Is that waht you mean?
@Edwin: That operates on all windows, not just Explorer folders.
@AndreTen: Could you explain further please, as I don't see what you mean.

Yes. It has a bit of a learning curve. If you want to tweak your system a bit more, go to thewindowsclub .com and get the TweakUI tool. It will allow you to shut off Prefetch and Superfetch if you have a SSD, along with some other items that deal with the GUI. If you also are looking at a way to check hardware temps, get Core Temp from alcpu.com Very light weight and the guy that designed it only asks for a small donation for the tool.

Thanks bro67. I couldn't find TweakUI for Windows 10 on that site. Only for Vista and Win 7. The closest I got was 'Ultimate Windows Tweaker 4.2.1' Did you mean that?

If so, one immediate flaw is that there appearsd to be no pop-up Help. The UI includes this:
"Just hover over a supported tweak to see its description." But nothing happens here.

Re Classic Start Menu, that doesn't appear to affect the subject issue. Or is there a setting I've missed?

    Tiling the Explorer folders?

Sorry, Ultimate Tweaker. I keep calling it TweakUI, since that was the original name, which is still used for the older OS versions. Sorry about that. There is a link that is for version 4, that is fixed to work with Windows 10. http://www.thewindowsclub.com/ultima...r-4-windows-10

Also majorgeeks.com has the majority of software in their downloads.

Edwin's post 6 didn't do what you wanted ? Between this and snap, I think you have all the XP 'flexibility' w/o extra programs, although I do use Classic Shell too.

Sorry @Terrypin, I've misread your original post. You are asking about cascade (already opened) explorer windows, I have somehow understood as to open explorer windows in cascading menu...

If you want to cascade open explorer windows press SHIFT and right click. Is this what you meant? My previous advice was about creating taskbar entry with shortcuts to all your favourite folders (with menu, like in Windows XP...)
