    Problem:

    A friend has an 8 years old HP Notebook and because of it's age the cmos battery does not longer function and so the time is hanging down in the morning like other body parts.

    I looked in the hw manual for the replacement chapter and found, that the cmos-battery is placed at the underground of the motherboard and I had no fun to disassemble the whole notebook through hazardous area.


    My circumvention for this problem was, to build a command, that can synchronize the date and time for Windows 10 with one click:

    For this purpose I build a bat-file, which contains: c:\windows\system32\w32tm /resync /nowait

    But the bat file must run with admin-rights, so I build a link to that bat-file and gave it admin rights through the extended properties.

    So I can put the link into autorun or start it individually.

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
