    Time synchronization does not work on home network.


    I've had this long running problem where my Windows 10 computers on my home network are not able to synchronize their time to an NTP machine. I'm not sure how long this problem has been occurring but finally figured out that my computers times were a little bit off. When I try to sync it appears to timeout.


    Now the weirdness is that on my work laptop, the same thing appears to happen but if I VPN into my work then my laptop is able to sync time?!?!


    I thought it might be some sort of filtering occurring at my WiFi AP so I replaced that but it didn't change the problem.

    Hi Kern

    Tried all the steps you suggested but time is still not synchronizing with internet time via the normal GUI settings and running SynchronizeTime from Windows Task Scheduler returns code 2147943479.

    What next?

    Did our Epson printer get hacked?

    Another question, is this on a home network or a work network? The steps @eidairaman1 listed are always a good first step. If this is on a work network you manage, I'd be much more concerned than the home one. It is possible someone is screwing with you, but malware could also be the culprit.

    Unable to synchronize time on new Windows 10 machine

    I just got a new Dell XPS 15 which runs Windows 10, and I seem unable to synchronize the time with the time servers. I've tried multiple solutions that I've found online, such as restarting Windows Time Service, switching to a different time server, disabling the firewall, etc. and nothing works. Windows cannot connect to the server and the connection times out.

    Any suggestions on how to fix this?

    EDIT: I've tried the solutions posted in this question, but they didn't work for me. They're essentially what I listed above.
