Time Zone change causes error in Task Scheduler for every task

My issue is kind of strange. I am an insider currently on Windows 10 build 10240. All the build I have tried so far has this same error in task scheduler when I change my time zone to my current location which is kathmandu (UTC+5:45). When i change the time zone to the aforementioned time zone and then check on Task Scheduler, when it loads the task library there are a lot of errors I have to click ok to make them go away. It says the task name and then goes on to say the task XML value is incorrectly formatted or out of range. It happens for every single task. so basically I have to click on ok for 8 to 10 times.
The most weird part is that if i change the time zone to some other time zones eg., U.S pacific time, the error in task scheduler goes away and all is normal. I am also using windows 8.1 and this type of error has never occurred. It happens in windows 10 only for every build. Its strange googling it has given me nothing related to time zone issue. But it happens only when i change my time zone. I have tried to change time zones to few other zones as well. Some of the time zones give me this issue and some don't. I am pretty sure this time zone error related in task scheduler is new and requires further debugging. I have even sent feedback to microsoft ever since build 10030, but all to no avail. Any thoughts on this one?

    :)

  2. Task Scheduler Errors - SPP & other scheduled tasks

I have performed four installs of WIN 10 X64, one as an in place WIN 7 upgrade and three clean installs. (I have used two different media sets to eliminate the possibility of media corruption)

If the system Time Zone is set to (UTC+09:30) Adelaide for example, or, for that matter any time zone that has an offset with a fraction of an hour, and upon opening the Task Scheduler a number of error dialogues present, the same errors as Beaupeep has
described. The errors show the task name then: The task XML contains a value which is incorrectly formatted or out of range.

I have identified the errors to all relate to tasks that have the Synchronize Across Zones checkbox checked. Changing the system time zone to say (UTC+10:00) for example resolves the error.

However a change back to (UTC+09:30) in my case, local zone brings a return of the Task Scheduler errors.

Errors logged in the event viewer show Error 16385 "Failed to schedule Software Protection service for re-start at 2115-07-09T01:13:47Z. Error Code: 0x80041318".

    • As a workaround I have set my time zone to (UTC+10:00) adjusted the time to local and turned off "Set time automatically".
I'd be interested to hear if anyone else can reproduce the Task Scheduler errors by changing their time zone and opening the Task scheduler?

After changing time zone to a whole hour one, no errors as you have described. Changing back to Adelaide time zone I then only get errors for my Office (default) scheduled tasks, until rebooting, then they all come back (on Adelaide time zone).

As I have mentioned I am an insider so I got the copy of build 10130 from Microsoft insider site. After that, all the other builds up to latest and final 10240 is updated directly from windows update. All the builds I have gotten so far has this very same problem.
Anyway I have 64 bit windows 10 running final build of insider 10240. All the insider get activated pro version so mine is pro as well. I made fresh installation on another primary partition of build 10130 on a machine running 8.1. i still have that win 8.1 on that first primary which has been working fine without a single flaw.
    To sum it up:
I have Win 10 build 10240 final pro 64 bit. got it as the authentic microsoft insider download and updated to every single build starting from 10130 to reach to this final 10240 through windows 10 update in the fast ring. Hope it clears the matter.

The latest update on Aug. 17 has solved this problem. I have checked and double checked on many time zones, the bug is not there anymore. Thankfully MS guys finally saw the bug I guess.
