Windows 10: To be able to scan a document name it and store it where you want, not taken by windows 10...

I have scanned a number of documents which have important information for a Government Department I changed the format to the one the Department uses and scanned the documents , all I saw was a number and that they were in the scan file, they were not after mucking about for a long time I located them in a drop down they were stored under pictures after another couple of hours I attached then to a number of emails and sent them only to have them returned saying unable to open please change format and resend I still have not found where you can excess the scanner and be able to do this any help from anybody would be appreciated please just remember I am not a computer geek I am a seventy one year old man who just knows enough to be dangerous

In my older version of Windows, I was able to scan a document, name it, and save it to a specific folder. I could also scan multiple documents using one file name. I have been struggling with Windows 10. I am able to scan a single document, can not add
a second page, and I can not name the document. Help anyone?

I have an HP Officejet Pro 8500.

I am using the app, in the app section, in the Windows 10 start area, called "scan".

With Windows 7 I was able to use Document Manager.

I could scan multiple pages (with my flatbed scanner) and save in the same document / PDF file.

I could save the scanned item with MY document name, not the generic "date" name the Win 10 scan app uses..

I could save to the folder of my choice.

All of this worked perfectly. Now it's all gone with the useless scan app that is now in Win 10.

Is anyone aware of a reasonably priced solution?

Trouble shooter did not help.

You can still "...save to the folder of (your) choice". The last "item" (choice) at bottom of left panel in Scan app allows you browse to the folder you desire.

However I, like you, do NOT like the included Windows 10 Scan app because it does not allow:

- naming the file before scanning

- adding pages to existing scan

- adding pages to an existing PDF file

- ETC, ETC, ETC...
