Windows 10: Too long to full scan desktop pc - 16/7/2019

It now takes a very long time for the desktop pc to be scanned for virus by MS Security Essentials.

Previouisly, it takes maximum of 4 hours to do full scan. Now it takes about 3 times the time, 13 hours to fully scan. I’ve not downloaded or input any new or additional files,videos or other programs into the pc at all. Wish to know why then it’s taking this much long time to complete the scan. This 13 hour scan started from about one month ago from the 4 hour scan.

Is there any way the full scan time can be shortened, sped up. Am using OS Windows 7 (Home) and browser IE 11.******

By default, scans are saved in a Scans folder inside the Pictures. Here are the steps on how to get there:

• Press Windows and type pictures
• Click Pictures and double-click the Scans folder.

Furthermore, we suggest that you repair your Word application by following the steps on this

link.

Lost Editability Of WAV File Meta Tags, Since 02/16/2019

Vijay, that would have been a good thing to try, but a critical update on 2/27/2019 has cleared the previous restore points. I am at aloss trying to figure out what that is. On that date, I see update history for:

• Three (3) Realtek audio driver updates
• Two (2) Windows Defender Definition updates under KB2267602

Everything else is before 2/16/2019.

Since I checked Update History, I got another Defender update, and a .NET 3.5/4.7.2 update... KB4486553. Now, I need to reboot. Let's see what happens after I restart.
