Windows 10: Too many browser tabs open

I am having slow and freezing problems with edge and firefox browsers. I started opening task manager and checking the browsers. When I open 4 windows in firefox 3 of them will tell me firefox is already running and task manager might show 10-20 running and edge sometimes show as many as 20 open. How can I find out what these are and how to stop it.

Open new tab / window in S60 browsers. 2 techniques

On my 5800 UK v5.0.005



1) Open web browser... brings up list of book marks

2) Options -> Go to -> New web page

3) enter www.newtab.co.uk, then press Go to

4) Press arrow icon in bottom-right

5) Options -> Subscribe to web feed

6) Select "New Tab"



That's the set up.. Now to use it



1) Open google.com

2) Select Options -> Go to -> Web feeds

3) Select "New tab" from the feeds list

4) Select "Open new tab" from list

5) Select "Open new tab" from top of web page

Now there are two windows



Try deleting the feed from your phone, then following those steps.. let me know how you get on

 

Tabs in browser

There could be changes made in your Internet Explorer settings that have caused the tabs to not open right away when the browser is launched. To set Internet Explorer to open several websites upon launch, follow these steps:

• Launch Internet Explorer.
• Open the websites you want to automatically open when IE is launch.
• Once done, click the Tools (gear-like) icon located in the upper-right hand corner of the page, then select Internet options.
• In the General tab, under Home page, click Use current.
• Click Apply, then OK.
• Close and relaunch Internet Explorer and see if the websites open right away.

Edge browser restore previous pages then suddenly opens new tab

Well I have the same situation only I get a new tab with a Restore Previous Pages option pop up in the top right hand corner if I click this it does restore those but leaves me with two Outlook (my start page) open so I shall try what you suggest.

Edit: have just checked mine and it is switched off so perhaps you got lucky.
