Toshiba Satellite A100 will not boot 32-bit Windows 10 version 1809 past the Windows logo.


This is an older, Legacy BIOS only, 32-bit-only laptop with an Intel Core Solo processor. It has 32-bit Windows 10 version 1803 installed. When attempting upgrade, via official version 1809 ISO file, it proceeds normally until the first restart. At this point it freezes at the Windows logo, does not display any swirling dots, shows no hard drive activity and proceeds no further, no matter how long I wait. There is no way to revert back to version 1803 without external install media, as it does not boot far enough to error out to the Windows Repair Environment.


Processor specifics are:
Intel® Core™ Solo processor T1350 (1.86GHz, 533MHz FSB, L1 Cache 32KB/32KB, L2 Cache 2MB)


This laptop also cannot boot to version 1809 install media, as it also freezes at the Windows logo. But it can boot version 1803 install media.


I have not been able to find any changes to the minimum hardware requirements for Windows 10 version 1809 that would explain this inability to boot this latest Windows 10 OS on a device that has version 1803 installed. I just did another clean install of version 1803.
