Windows 10: TotalAV - is it good? Window 10

A few weeks ago. I was having issues with MBAM Premium and an expert here suggested that I replace it with the Free Version. I went to CNET and it seems that the free version for Windows 10 no longer exists - there are freetrials but not the free product.

I searched using Bing and most search results recommended TotalAV.


Have you any views on this product please?

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Getting rid of TotalAV

I had Dell email me that it needed to upgrade the computer, and among those items was TotalAV antivirus AND Microsoft updates. Now I see that TotalAV is not a good product and actually causes false alerts to get payment, etc. I can't find any file on my
computer called "TotalAV." Do you know what name it goes by? Geek couldn't find it, and neither did a regular search.

What can I do to get rid of it? It also attached itself to my online search engine to try to "thwart" viruses. This is maddening if I don't even know what's being loaded on my computer.
