Windows 10: Touchpad buttons and gestures not working after Windows 10 update.

Hi there

After the recent Windows 10 update, the Touchpad buttons Left, Centre, Right, and touchpad gestures are not working on my Lenovo X260. The pointer moves but buttons and gestures do not work.

I have already tried to update driver, rebooting, and check that touchpad is enabled.

This is very frustrating, as I work entirely with the touchpad.

Please advise how this issue can be fixed.

• Since when are you facing this issue?
• Did you make any changes to the computer prior to this issue?

I suggest you to follow the steps provided below and check if it helps.

Method 1: Hardware and Device troubleshooter.

• Press Windows Key + X key, Click on Control Panel.
• Type troubleshooting in the search bar, click on troubleshooting.
• Click on Hardware and Sound, click on Hardware and Devices.
• Follow the steps from the wizard to run the troubleshooter.

Method 2: update drivers.



I suggest you to update your touchpad drivers and check. Before you update the drivers, please enable the computer to get automatic updates,

Note: The above links applies to Windows 10 as well.



You may also download the latest touchpad and all other drivers from the manufacturer’s website and install it on your computer.

touchpad gestures two finger scroll not working Asus 501

Hi there,

1. Go to N501VW | ASUS Global Downloads
2. Download the latest ATK - ATKPackage driver
3. Download the latest TouchPad - ASUS Smart Gesture (Touchpad Driver)
4. Uninstall both the Touchpad driver and the Asus ATK package driver.
5. Reboot
6. First install ATKPackage driver (IMPORTANT to do this FIRST)
7. Reboot
8. Then install the TouchPad driver (may need to reboot)
9. Test if all is working as it should

I had this same issue with my Asus UX305 when I upgraded to Windows version 1803 and doing the above steps solved the issue for me.

 

Touchpad gestures NOT working

Hi Abuzar,

Your touchpad drivers might be outdated or corrupted. I would suggest that you update the touchpad driver. Follow the steps below:

• Press Windows key and X together and select
  Device Manager.
• Locate the touchpad driver.
• Right-click on the touchpad driver icon and click Update Driver software.
• Click on Search automatically for Updated driver software option.

If the driver for Windows 10 is not available, download and reinstall the latest touchpad drivers from the manufacturer website.
