    Touchpad two-finger scroll erratic

I recently purchased a Windows 10 laptop PC from Dell (specifically the XPS 9380), and it appears that the built-in Windows Precision touchpad drivers aren't working properly. Specifically, the cursor jumps erratically during two-finger scroll, causing similarly-erratic scrolling behavior and sometimes extraneous clicks.

Dell support has repeatedly informed me that the drivers are managed through Windows, and I've made sure (several times) that I am using the most recent drivers (as of about 7:00 pm EST 6/5/19). However, the problem persists.

For testing purposes, I tried installing a Synaptics touchpad driver made for Dell laptops. This solved the two-finger scroll problem, but created several others (such as erroneous clicks and inconsistent sensitivity). I have since rolled back to the default Windows 10 touchpad drivers. However, because of the semi-success of the Synaptics drivers, I am convinced that this is a driver-side problem. I can simply think of no other reason why a Synaptics driver would "solve" it, even with unacceptable side effects.

I have also exhausted the built-in Windows troubleshooting options for touchpads.

Let me know what I can do, or what information I can provide, to resolve this driver issue as soon as possible.

    :)

Synaptics touchpad V1.2 - no option for one-finger scrolling?

    Hello,

I recently bought a Lenovo Y700 running W10. I am trying to get it set up the way I like and cannot find an option to use one-finger scrolling with my touchpad (two-finger scrolling is an option and works just fine).

I am updated to driver 19.0.19.1, but for some reason when I go to Mouse Properties it lists the driver version as 19.0.17.26. I'm not sure if this is related. Here are some screen caps of the driver discrepancy as well as the UI for the mouse, which has no option for one-finger scrolling. How do I enable this?

    Two-Finger Touchpad Scrolling (TFTPS)

You driver is slightly newer than mine; that's on my PC specialist Clevo laptop.

Suggest you check your task manager activity whilst scrolling a browser page with your HP machine, and post a screenshot.
Please also post a screenshot of your Synaptics touchpad options.
To post a screenshot please use the Insert Image icon above your post.

2 finger scrolling using my Thinkpad and Firefox is smoother and more effortless.
