Windows 10: Touchscreen gestures do not work and no flicks options show up in control panel (Surface Pro 7)

I just recently got a new Surface Pro 7 and I have been configuring it. I ran all the updates I could through windows update, tried to update relevant drivers (none found, I assume they were all updated in windows update), set up WSL with Ubuntu and installed some apt packages, and downloaded/installed VS Code and Firefox. I've been trying to figure out why the touchscreen gestures have not been working and have not been able to find anything out. I had been using tablet mode a lot for youtube and browsing the internet lately and that hasn't been an issue at all, just the gestures don't work when I turn off tablet mode.


Additionally, no settings show up in pen and touch settings for flicks. I can confirm that multitouch works fine by using OneNote. I'm not sure what else to do at this point other than installing a gestures app or reinstalling Windows. I'd rather not install another gestures app since I'd be happy with the default gestures. I'd also rather not reinstall Windows unless I need to since it took a bit of time to set up all the packages I need in WSL.


Any ideas on what I can try? Thank you!

Flick Gestures Not Working - Surface 3 w/ Surface Pen

The drag "up" and drag "down" flick gestures are not working for me in Chrome on the Surface 3. "Back" and "forward' work but I only ever see the icons for "up" and "down" without the page scrolling up or down.

Edge does not recognize any flick gesture.

Microsoft: can you please fix this?

I use the Surface 3 tablet with Windows 10 (updated as recently as last night), the new Surface pen (for Surface Pro 4), Microsoft Edge version 25.10586.0.0 and Google Chrome Version 47.0.2526.106 m.

I have configured my touchscreen, my Flick Gesture settings, set gestures to the most "relaxed" settings, used practice mode successfully, etc.

We understand the inconvenience caused and we will try our best to resolve the issue.

This issue might occur if some the flick setting is set properly or got setting got corrupted.

I suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.

1) Press Windows key + x, and select Control panel.

2) Open Pen and Touch applet

3) Touch the Flicks tab

4) Ensure that the Use flicks to perform common actions quickly and easily is checked

5) Set the Sensitivity slider to the left (Relaxed)

6) Touch Apply

7) Touch Ok.
