Windows 10: TPM 2.0 not being recognized by Windows 11

Hey everyone,I am stumped on this. I am currently running Microsoft Windows 11 Pro version 10.0.2261 with a ROG Crosshair VIII FORMULA motherboard. When I go into the BIOS settings I see the TPM showing up but when I go to tpm.msc nothing is showing up. I tried messing around in the BIOS settings seeing if I could reset the TPM. I remember at one point that the TPM was working because I was able to install Windows 11 pro but now I am not sure what is going on. Here are some pictures from the BIOS and from Device Security/tpm.msc to show whats going on. Any support would be much appreciated!Ly

Windows 11 Suddenly Stopped Recognizing TPM

Turns out multiple problems were happening at the same time. My BIOS requires Firmware TPM to be turned on so that the Intel Chip's TPM capacity is recognized. Somehow, it changed to Discrete TPM and turned that capacity off so Windows could not recognize it. Also, I had a backup drive dying that was interfering with functionality. Everything seems fine now. However, still no success installing 2022-07 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 for x64-based Systems (KB5015882)

 

TPM not usable, cannot install Windows 11

My machine is not able to be upgraded to Windows 11. Here is what my system info says:

I tried following the instructions at Enable TPM 2.0 on your PC - Microsoft Support

I got into the BIOS and it says that it is enabled, but no device found.

It depends on which TPM version you have. You can check using an option in the tutorial below.

If you don't have TPM 2.0, but at least TPM 1.2, you can use the method in the tutorial below to bypass the TPM 2.0 requirement.
