    Transfer digital license purchased in Microsoft Store


    Hello everyone,

    I've a Desktop (PC1) pre-installed with Win8, so it should be an OEM license which I later upgrade to Win10 Home edition. Last year I purchased Win10 Pro upgrade from Microsoft Store to upgrade PC1 to Pro edition so I can access remotely by RDP.

    As my project is getting more complex I'm thinking to build another Desktop (PC2) and install Win10 with retail Win8 product key which I purchased years ago. Is it possible to restore PC1 to Home edition and use digital license to upgrade PC2 to Pro edition?

    Transfer digital license from old PC to New one.

    You would have to first ensure the Digital License is linked to your Microsoft Account. See instructions how to do that. You can then use the Troubleshooter on the new computer after installing Windows 10 to restore the license.


    Please note, if your license was upgraded from a OEM preinstalled Windows 7 or Windows 7 license, it is not transferable.
