Windows 10: Transfer license to new computer -practical questions

I am in the process of building a new computer. The computer I currently have will be given to my wife.I want her computer to be as clean as possible, i.e. all accounts and files removed so that when she boots the computer for the first time it seems "as new". With my new computer build I want windows 10 installed, and I want the account I am currently using transferred to the new build.Is the license connected to the microsoft account in anyway?I presume I need a new license, but how do you suggest I should practically solve this the easy way?Thanks for any help

If its the free upgrade originated from an OEM Windows 7 or Windows 8 preinstalled license, it is still not transferrable, even though it says its retail in the command line using slmgr.vbs /dlv command.

Only licenses upgraded from a retail Windows 8 or Windows 7 or full Windows 10 license.

Uninstalling a product key does not deactivate the license, there is actually no deactivation method. You would still need to contact support to actually invalidate the license on the old machine, so it can reactivate on the new machine.

Transferring the license is a step by step process.

First, you either remove the license from the machine by formatting it.

Install it on the new machine.

Contact chat support, then reactivate.

Where Digital license is handy is when you are still using the machine and reinstall Windows 10 and need to reactivate the license after a significant hardware change, such as a hard disk.

i bought the license. My laptop was originally loaded with win 7 and was upgraded free couple of months.

in this case, if i understand you correctly, i can transfer with below steps. Right.?

does OS upgrades if my activation key is changed.
