Transfer Windows 10 from a non-usable PC (but still in microsoft account) to new PC

Hello! I recently built a PC and formatted my old SSD (that was running windows) to use on my new PC. Unfortunately, I forgot to deactivate windows before I completely wiped the SSD. The old "computer" is still connected to my microsoft account. Is there a way to deactivate Windows from that old non-working (non-existent actually) PC to reactivate on my current one? Thanks for any help!

    :)

Installing Windows 10 on New PC?

I'm going to be building a new PC on Christmas and want to install Windows 10 on it. I have Windows 10 on my current PC, which I installed upgrading from 8.1 with the files on a USB. How do I go about installing a clean copy of Windows 10 on this new PC? I think I recall something about installing it once makes Microsoft recognize your hardware, but since this will be a PC I'm not sure what steps I need to take. Do I need to go 8.1 -> 10 or is there a method of going directly to 10?

transfer windows 10 to new pc?

It depends on how Windows 10 was originally configured on your computer.

If its a full retail store bought license online or offline, it is transferable to a new computer or motherboard.

If its the free upgrade from a retail store bought Windows 7 or Windows 8 license, it is transferable to a new computer or motherboard.

If its the free upgrade from a OEM preinstalled Windows 7 or Windows 8 license, it is NOT transferable to a new computer or motherboard.
