Windows 10: Transfer Windows 10 Home from an old laptop to a new PC?

Hi, a few months ago, I bought a refurbished PC from my local store which came with Windows 10 Pro pre-installed. Everything was fine until recently, I'm getting a message to activate my copy of windows. I also own a windows 10 laptop on which I activated my windows 10 home edition that came with my microsoft account. I don't use my laptop anymore and will soon get rid of it, is there a way for me to transfer my Windows 10 home edition from my laptop to this PC? Is it possible to downgrade from this unactivated version of Windows 10 Pro to the Windows 10 home edition I currently have active on my laptop Which would also deactivate it from my laptop? I recently purchased a new laptop with windows 10. My old laptop has windows 7. Can anyone list the step-by-step instructions for transferring the data to the new machine? I understand that windows easy transfer is no longer an option for windows 10.

To transfer files from your old laptop to your new one, you can use a Universal Serial Bus (USB) flash drive or a thumb drive. Follow the steps below:

• Insert the USB flash drive into a USB port of your laptop.
  
• Wait for the laptop to detect the USB drive.
• Open a window for the files that you want to transfer and another window for the USB drive.
  
• Select the files that you want to transfer, right-click and then click on
  Cut or Copy.
  
• On the destination window, right-click and select Paste.
  
• Make sure that files are completely transferred before removing the USB flash drive.
• Insert the USB into your new laptop.
• Access the files once the USB drive is detected.
• Repeat the same procedure on how you transferred or copied the files from your old laptop to the flash drive.
