  1. Transfering the OS from a SATA SSD to an M.2 SSD...

So as the title suggests, I'm wanting to transfer my Windows 10 OS from my already connected SATA SSD to a new and larger M.2 SSD that I'm installing. I have around 500gb of data on the old (SATA) SSD, but the only thing I want to transfer is the OS. Is there a way to retain my files and programs on my old SSD without having to uninstall/backup/reinstall them?

  2. M.2 SSD Partitioning

My OS is installed on an 128GB SATA SSD,

All other applications, when ever possible I used to install on another 60 SATA SSD.

I am very happy with the performance. It is pretty fast, better than if it were on the same disk. I have tested the difference.

Now I have a new ASUS ROG Strix B450-F Gaming Motherboard with Two M.2 slots.

I am going to buy a 512 GB M.2 SSD.

As I have under stood the SSD consists of 4 Nos of NAND Chis.

Therefore on each NAND chip, I presume will have capacity of 64 GBs.

My question is are they really independent ?

Can they behave as independent Hard disks?

    If yes,

Can I partition my new M.2 SSD into an 198GB and 64GB partitions -that means 3 NAND chips and one NAND Chip?

and enjoy the same or better speed than before that I had with the SATA SSD?

Transfer OS to SATA SSD from HDD

    Hello everyone,

I have old PC with system configuration as below:

    Processor-Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 2.93GHz

    RAM:2GB

    MotherBoard:Asus P5kpl-am/ps

    HDD:WD 512GB

    No Graphics Card,Intel stock cooler.

Recnetly I have upgraded the PC from windows 7 professional (32bit) to Windows 10 Pro so I have digital license only. After up-gradation I am not able to use edge,Microsoft Store since then I have asked for solution but it did not workout.

Just gave these information just to give any help for current question that I am about to ask.

"The system is very slow" so I am thinking of upgrading to SATA SSD from the current HDD so I want to know -

1.how can I transfer my os which is present currently in HDD to SSD.

2.Will I get any performance increase I am asking although I know that performance will increse.

3.Will there be any chance that I have to enter activation key for my OS during any step on upgradation. As I do not have any activation key for Windows 10 what have was for Windows 7.

Any help any suggestion will be very helpful for my adventure on becoming a Geeky!.

Thanks in advance for the response.
