Windows 10: transfering win 10 product code to new computer.

Problem. I want to transfer my win 10 product code to a new computer. Microsoft state I have to first deactivate it on my old computer, problem is-----------
My internet computer has given up on me which has Win 10, 64 bit installed and is activated.
I have not been able to get it to boot so cannot deactivate. Putting the hardrive onto another computer as a slave checks out Ok with no virus or or other problems . Have checked the keyboard, mouse and the graphic card. all are Ok. I put a newish formatted hard drive on the old computer hoping it might boot and ask for a OP to be put in but nothing . Pressing delete when starting does nothing, So my conclusion is that the motherboard has failed.

Any thoughts on how to activate win 10 on the new computer you may have will be very welcome,

If you upgraded from a retail box copy Windows 7, it has retail transfer rights.

programs and files missing after data transfer to new computer. not listed in apps nor thru search. Have used win defender. Is the program somewhere?

 

transfer files between computers on a home network

I don't know why this is so hard to do but I would like to transfer files between a desktop PC running windows 10 pro and a laptop running windows 10 home. I would like to transfer files in both directions. Both computers are on the same home network and are connected wirelessly.

Could some one provide either specific step by step instructions on how to do this (I googled and found a countless list of instructions that don't work)

or a link to a reference.

I don't know if this is possible but it would be nice to see the computer sending the desired file in the explorer file manager of the computer receiving the desired file and then under the computer see a list
of shared files and folders.

Again, this seems like such a reasonable way of sharing files and folders. Shouldn't there be a simple way to do this?
