    Transferring Apps and Data

We are rolling out Windows 10 1809 and currently have the AppStore disabled via GPO. However this is just temporary until we can figure out how to migrate user apps and data from one machine to another. The concern is that a user will get apps from the store and our techs do not know how to move the app and any local data. Can anyone point me in the right direction? We'd like to use first party solutions.

    TIA

    :)

    Transfer My Data App

Configuration used: Lumia 730 with Windows Phone 8.1 Denim

Transfer My Data app allows you to EXPORT Contacts and SMS messages to your SD Card. (Option accessed through . . . menu on first screen)

The exported items are saved to D:\backup\data\20150106155329\sms

The path contains date and time in the folder name

    How to access this folder?

If the phone is connected to a Windows 8.1 machine the phone shows up in "This PC"

Music, Pictures, Video and Document folders on the phone can be accessed and items moved between phone and PC.

Also Windows Phone App shows only the type of folders listed above.

Any suggestions on how to locate the d:\Backup\Data.... folder?

    Thanks.

    Hi,

To better assist you, please answer the following questions:

    • What's the model of your old and new phone?
    • How did you transfer the data from old phone to your new one?
    • What type of data did you transfer?
    • Did you transfer the data directly to SD card or phone storage?

    Regards.

How can I transfer data (no programs or windows just setups and games)from one HDD to another please tell me all the steps, I have heard that in 2 sata if there is a window installed in both of them it could cause a problem. So, here is what I'm going to do so correct me if I'm wrong. both of them Are SATA WD

1 using XP CD going to delete the C partition in old HDD
    2 taking the HDD out
4 partition the new HDD in new PC by using XP CD
    5 install Win 7
6 connect the old HDD with SATA data and power cable
7 check if it is detected in bios
8 disk management initialize disk(i don't know if this is necessary)
    9 copy paste
