  1. Transferring existing programmes to new laptop

Apologies if this has been covered before, but search only popped up one other close thread:

Situation: Ageing W7Pro OEM laptop upgraded to W10Pro 2004 (now slowing badly with age, like me) - wish to buy new sparkling toy.
Object: Would like to 'carry' all installed progs to new machine without having to re-install them
Plan: Buy Full retail W10 Pro. Install on new lappie.

Now the questions: There are programmes around which claim to transfer stuff, like 'Easeus PCTrans'. Does it work?

Can I 'do it myself' by:-
    a) Cloning Drive and transferring to new OR
    b) Copy Registry, Progs folders and Prog data to new (plus tidying up 'Destop and other personalisations) OR
is there more dark secret stuff involved about which I have no idea? I assume I will have driver issues but I hope I can work through those.

    :)

  2. USB Transfer to Laptop

    Hello Judy,

I suggest you to copy all the files to a flash drive from the laptop.
You may create a new folder on your desktop and name that folder as per your choice.

    • Perform the steps to transfer the files from laptop to desktop.

    • Plug in the flash drive and wait for it to get detected.

    • Now, open the flash drive and Right Click on the files that you want to transfer and select “Copy”.

    • Now, open the folder on desktop and Right Click on an empty space in the folder and select “Paste”.

    • Similarly, you can transfer all other files.
As per the file size you can also use an external drive instead of a flash drive and transfer the data.

Hope this helps. If the issue remains unresolved, please get back to us and we would be happy to help.

  3. New windows opening behind existing windows in same programmes in Windows 10

    Hi Pamela,

In order to understand the issue in a better manner, please share the following details

    • With which programme you are facing this issue? Is the issue specific to the program?

    • When you say ''opens new windows behind each other even in the same programme'' do you refer to the same program it get open on the Windows background or Windows explorer?

I suggest you to follow the below steps to fix the issue.

Method 1: Reboot the computer and try fixing the issue.

It would refresh all the Application and Programs on windows 10, and helps you in accessing the apps and Programme without any issues.

    Method 2:

    Reference:
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows-update

    Method 3: Reset Windows Explorer.

      • Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc and locate for
        Windows Explorer.

      • Right click on the Windows Explorer and click on
        End task.

Where are my programmes listed using Windows 10

I have just bought a new laptop with windows 10 and have downloaded various programmes. Where are they ?!

I can't find a list of them anywhere. They are not added to those daft boxes on the front screen and they are not in the list when I click on the Start button, just some are listed but not many and in an order I don't like, last purchased then frequently
used (not) and who wants 'suggestion for paid programmes' ?)
