Windows 10: Transferring of Licenses from one PC to another.

Hello,

I would like to transfer a Windows 10 license from on PC to another. I have purchased windows 10 home from the digital store on one of my PC's, lets call it PC1. PC1 is activated with Windows 10 Home with a "Windows is activated with a digital license linked to your Microsoft account" description. I recently built a new Computer, lets call it PC2, and I would like for Windows to be activated. I know windows does not like its license to be run on multiple computers and that is not my goal either. All I need is to transfer the license from PC1 to PC2 and I'm not planning to use PC1 afterwards which is why I do not need Windows there. Apparently you don't receive a product key when you purchase digitally, so I do not have one to type in. I'm really hoping there is a simple response or method for transferring the license from one end to another. Alternatively if there is a way to refund and then purchase it again I need to know how because when I visit my order history, there is no refund/return button on my end.

i bought the license. My laptop was originally loaded with win 7 and was upgraded free couple of months.

in this case, if i understand you correctly, i can transfer with below steps. Right.?

and to my question do you have an update.

does OS upgrades if my activation key is changed.

It depends on how Windows 10 was originally configured on your computer.

If its a full retail store bought license online or offline, it is transferable to a new computer or motherboard.

If its the free upgrade from a retail store bought Windows 7 or Windows 8 license, it is transferable to a new computer or motherboard.

If its the free upgrade from a OEM preinstalled Windows 7 or Windows 8 license, it is NOT transferable to a new computer or motherboard.
