  2. Japanese IME predictive text appears in seperate window on steam only

Hi, my name is Kelly, and I'm an independent consultant and I'm here to help.

It sounds like the issue you are experiencing with Japanese IME predictive text appearing in a separate window on Steam may be related to Steam's compatibility with Windows 11. Here are a few suggestions you can try to resolve the issue:

Update Steam: Make sure that you have the latest version of Steam installed. You can check for updates by clicking on "Steam" in the top left corner of the Steam window, and then clicking on "Check for Steam Client Updates".

Run Steam as administrator: Try running Steam as an administrator to see if this resolves the issue. Right-click on the Steam shortcut or executable, and select "Run as administrator".

Change Steam compatibility mode: Try changing the compatibility mode for Steam to Windows 10 or an earlier version of Windows. To do this, right-click on the Steam shortcut or executable, select "Properties", and then click on the "Compatibility" tab. Check the box that says "Run this program in compatibility mode for", and select "Windows 10" or an earlier version of Windows from the drop-down menu.

Disable Steam overlay: Try disabling the Steam overlay to see if this resolves the issue. To do this, open Steam, click on "Steam" in the top left corner of the Steam window, and then click on "Settings". In the Settings window, click on the "In-Game" tab, and uncheck the box that says "Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game".

Use a different input method: If none of the above steps work, you can try using a different input method for typing in Japanese, such as the Microsoft IME. To switch to the Microsoft IME, open the "Language settings" page in Windows Settings, select "Japanese" under "Preferred languages", click on "Options", and then click on "Add a keyboard". Select "Microsoft IME" from the list of keyboards.

I hope one of these suggestions helps to resolve the issue for you.

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL BSOD when downloading a game in Steam

I recently got myself a new PC, i installed Windows 10 Education with a bootable USB-Stick and downloaded and installed all the drivers.

I can browse the Internet for hours and hours and nothing bad ever happens, but whenever I start a download in Steam

my PC crashes and I get a BSOD with the Code "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL".

This can happen instantly or it takes 30min - 1h to crash but only if im downloading a game in Steam.

    My specs:

    Asus Prime X570-P

    AMD Ryzen 7 3700X

    Dark Rock Pro 4

    RX 5700 XT

    16 GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-2666 2x8

    Kingston A1000

600W be quiet! pure Power 11

Hope this is enough information, if not feel free to ask for more!

I hope you can help me.

  4. Tried to download a game from steam and now im in a BSOD Loop

    BSOD during Steam game download!

I did manage to reinstall the network driver, and as well I reinstalled Steam and uninstalled my antivirus for the time being. I pulled the driver-only from MSI and will try that, but for the moment, I still continue to get the BSoD errors.

    (Today 3:50PM) 071017-28437-01.zip

The last BSoD before this one is here as well:

(Today 2:30PM, before all the changes): 071017-40671-01.zip

I also performed a memtest, so it doesn't seem like the antivirus, steam or bad RAM are to blame so far, and I'll test the new-new KIller Network Driver momentarily. How come that 'ntoskrnl.exe' is always preceding the crashes? Is it a deeper problem? And
how come it only affects this particular game's download so far? I guess I'll also test other games, since they were also uninstalled with Steam.

    Thank you for the reply!
