Windows 10: Tried to transfer my license as per documentation.. but now it's all gone.

Moved to new motherboard, Processor etc....


Followed instructions for uninstalling my activation on my old pc.

slrmgr.vbs /upk


on new machine...

slrmgr /ipk "my install key".


"invalid key" ****?


All attempts and variations end up in failure.

I even tried to get to the point where I put in the product ID code and get the activation phone system to allow me to activate.

Problem.. pc wouldn't give me the product code!

I ended up buying using another key to install on my new box.


The old PC has now been repurposed (ESXI box now) but the older machine still shows up in my online Microsoft account as active???

Can I get the key recovered from there so I can use it on another future box?

The Microsoft phone support prompts don't work or apply to this question so I can't get to a human.

i bought the license. My laptop was originally loaded with win 7 and was upgraded free couple of months.

in this case, if i understand you correctly, i can transfer with below steps. Right.?

let me buy my new laptop and try below.

and to my question do you have an update.

does OS upgrades if my activation key is changed.

Why did the startup window get cleared?

I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.
