Windows 10: Triple HDMI TV Setup?

I just got to thinking, I also have a DVI-A to VGA adapter... Could I break the four pins above the horizontal pin and then would it work? Or am I crazy? *Smile

 

Not sure on that ( but you might be crazy anyway ) I don't know the 2 pin outs but they can probably be found maybe even in Wiki Opinion *Cool

 

The 4 big pins are I believe the analog pins used by the VGA part of the signal. Digital Visual Interface - Wikipedia I wouldn't break them off.

On that picture of the DVI-A. On the right side, Top two pins, bottom two pins, the in the middle that horizontal shaft. Or maybe you guys got what I was saying. *Smile

Maybe your right, I guess will just have to buy a REAL DVI-D to VGA adapter / cable sometime

 

Those 4 pins are used for the analog signal. C1 Analog red C2 Analog green C3 Analog blue C4 Analog horizontal sync C5 Analog ground

 

To go from DVI-D to VGA you need more than just a passive adapter or cable. It will have electronics in it to generate the analog signal. a mini video card if you will. The DVI-D connector on the video card will have nothing connected to the pins listed on that DVI-A. There may not even be any pins there, just an empty space.

I do believe, if you were to follow the speck 100%. A DVI to VGA adapter is not supposed to be able to plug into a DVI-D connector. Those 4 pins are supposed to be plugged with no holes. It's just cheaper and easier to solder two DVI-I connectors to the video card. You only have to stock the one part in inventory.

 

Just noticed this on the right hand side of the page I linked too. It would have simplified things if I had seen it sooner.

A decent multi-output graphics card or multiple graphics cards will be the best bet. Remember though driving multiple monitors at Hi rez will probably need a bigger PSU in your computer - decent Hi rez graphics consumes a lot of power.

I have done what that guide said, and I still got nothing, no pulse. When I did do that "NVidia Surround" Thing and the 57**x3*** (Can't remember at the moment) but then when I clicked it BAM! All screens were black and said "No Signal" on the Polaroid and Sanyo, and "Mode Not Supported" on the Samsung. All of them were all set at 1920x1080. Samsung --> DVI-I to VGA, Polaroid & Sanyo --> HDMI.

I still don't know why it won't work *Think I really don't want to buy 3 monitors, because then I would have just wasted $150 on the Sanyo. But I use it as my TV in my room now. I haven't done this Triple Monitor Setup in about a month, but I would still like to know how to get them working. I will record a video this weekend showing you guys what is happening. *Smile
