  1. Trojan:JS/Malgent!MSR Windows Defender

I have a concern for something that has just happened with my system. I recently just came back from a two month holiday so I have not used my home desktop for these past two months. However, when I booted it up for the first time right now, I noticed a warning from Windows Defender notifying me about a security threat that is Trojan:JS/Malgent!MSR. When I tried to look into it further, the notification tray disappeared and it seemed like the threat disappeared. I went into my protection history and found that it was a Severe threat that was quarantined affecting the following items:file: C:\U

  2. I have been infected with Trojan: JS/BlacoleRef.CC

I got a message from Windows Defender (WD) about been infected by this trojan, JS/BlacoleRef.CC, and I said yes to its deletion asking. Afterwards, as recommended, I ran a full scan of WD and it did not appear back but now all options in WD settings
are not accessible. I was trying to see excluded files. What to do?

    [Original Title: Trojan: JS/BlacoleRef.CC]

  3. Security Intelligence Update for Windows Defender Antivirus KB2267602 and Trojan JS Coin Miner

This update has not installed and I have been trying for 2 weeks. I also have issues with Trojan JS Coin Miner which seems only to attack when I try to open certain apps. Does anyone know if these are related? Windows Defender and Windows Security haven't
got rid of it. Should I uninstall and install these 2 apps?

    Trojan:JS/Malgent!MSR Windows Defender

    Malgent Trojan

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

    1

Boot your PC into Safe Mode.

Open File Explorer, then on the View menu at the top, temporarily turn on 'Hidden Items'.

Navigate to this folder: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows Defender\Scans\History\Service

Delete the contents of that Service folder.

    Navigate to this folder:

    C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows Defender\Quarantine

Delete the contents of that Quarantine folder.

Close File Explorer and restart Windows in normal mode.

    2

Open Defender and select the option to perform an offline scan, your PC will restart to perform that scan.

Then check if that malware list is clear.
