Windows 10: Trojan Removal

Hello r/Windows10 First off, if I'm in the wrong place, please do let me know and (if you would be so kind) point me in the direction of a better sub/resource. My mother has just gotten a new work laptop and after (not super sure on the timeline here) getting her work's software installed (Quickbooks), Windows Defender has flagged a "severe" Trojan threat. Right now she's in a circle of asking Defender to take action to remove it, being pointed back to the option to scan, and not getting anywhere. Is Windows Defender able to remove threats like these, or should I be trying to help her get some 3rd party program to deal with it?

If it would be helpful, I can take a video of the cycle the laptop is stuck in.
