    Trouble with ASUS Keyboard Backlight


    The backlight on the keyboard was working perfectly fine until it suddenly stopped. I'm using an FX505G and I've tried reinstalling drivers to make sure they are up to date, rebooting the laptop, but nothing is working. I do not have backlight buttons on my f keys like some ASUS laptops. The backlight comes on when the computer is in sleep mode and when it first powers on before I can access the lock screen.

    • lacrumb is correct, keyboard backlighting is controlled by utilities put on your computer by the computer maker.
    • Keyboard backlighting only appears in Windows mobility centre if the computer maker has put it there.

    I suggest

    • Checking through your Start menu looking for a computer maker's utility,
    • Reading the computer manual,
    • Searching the computer maker's website
    • Searching any user forums for your computer model
    • Installing all hardware updates & BIOS updates provided on the computer maker's website
