  1. Trouble with 'Change where new content is saved' function

I have a brand new system Intel NUC10i7FNH and have Windows 10pro install and activated.

I only have a small SSD as my system drive 120Gb, but I have a 4Tb in a USB dock attached to computer.

I wanted to change where documents/music/photos/etc are stored by default i.e. to 4Tb drive so as not to fill the c:

I successfully changed where new documents are stored, but when attempting to change the others I get an error code 0x80070005.

No manner of fixes have been attempted see Google search for the error code, tools run, but still can't get the other changes made.

Are there any ideas that might help?

    Thanks,

    DacorDave

    :)

  2. Unable to change where new content is saved.

In Settings, System, Storage, Change where new content is saved. I don't think it is a store issue but will run trouble shooter.

  3. Change where new content is saved.

    Hello Martin,

We apologize for the late reply.

Windows 10 lets you easily change the default Save location for Documents, Music, Picture and Video files. For steps on how to organize your preferred setting, follow these steps:

    • Open Start Menu.
    • Click Settings, then System settings.
    • Click on Storage in the left pane.
    • Scroll down a bit and find Save locations.
    • There you will see New documents will save to setting and similar settings for Music, Pictures & Videos.
    • Select the location from the drop-down menu.

For Windows 10 Creators Update v1703, you need to navigate as follows:

    Settings > System > Storage
    > Change where new content is saved.

Tip: If you are suffering from the low space issues after upgrading, you can use these technique to move Documents and other personal folders from the default system drive to another drive.

Feel free to post back if further assistance is needed.
