    Trouble with USB connection

    Hi all,

I have a Traktor Kontrol S4 mk2 (DJ controller) that I have used with this PC for a few months with rarely any issues. Recently (a few hours ago) the computer has not connected to the device properly - audio and power is coming through the USB, but no software is recognising the device.

The reason I am posting here is that when investigating the issue I found a problem in the device manager. The HID section within device manager contains all of the USB input devices connected to the computer, but the one that shows up when I try to plug in the DJ controller has the little exclamation mark. The error code is as follows:

This device cannot start. (Code 10)

Couldn't allocate memory for preparse data.

I cannot find this error message anywhere on the internet. I have tried manually updating the drivers, the software, the firmware, uninstalling and reinstalling the USB hubs, and pretty much every other option that I can find. If someone could explain the second part of that error message to me, that would be a great start.

    Much appreciated.

    :)

I had the same problem. It is the recent updates to Windows 10.

Uninstall the most recent updates from 12 Feb 2019. I had 4 of them with 1 being a flash update, 2 Microsoft security updates, and 1 Microsoft Update. I tried to uninstall all of them but the Microsoft Update was the only one that actually stay deleted. The 2 security updates that remain after trying to uninstall them all are: (KB4471324) and (KB4485449). I think the deleted one may be (KB4100347) from my history but I am not sure. After I uninstalled them, I rebooted my computer and started up Traktor with the S4 plugged in. All good.
