I'm feeling much better now that you have suggested a workable solution to the KB5019959 update. I have successfully uninstalled the update and hidden it to prevent future installations of the offending update. The root cause of the Internet anomalies on my machine subsequent to the installation of KB5019959 are unknown and hopefully will be addressed by Microsoft.

I'll be sure to report the issue via the Feedback Hub.

However, as I've mentioned, I've already uninstalled the update and everything's fine. However, I have to pause updates to prevent Windows from reinstalling it. This means I'm not able to check for any other updates while it remains paused, since Windows automatically downloads KB5019959 and installs it when I shut down the computer. Here's a screenshot of what I mean:





Since it seems that keeping the update isn't an option, is there a way for me to "skip" KB5019959 whilst also allowing other updates to come through?

The "Show or Hide Updates" troubleshooter you linked didn't list KB5019959 (presumably because it's currently uninstalled as I write this).

I suggest doing the following:

Run the Windows Update Troubleshooter.

If it persists, rename the software distribution folders as instructed below:

1. Open Start and type cmd, right-click on "Command Prompt", and select "Run as administrator".

2. Run the following commands at the Command Prompt one at a time:

net stop bits

net stop wuauserv

net stop cryptsvc

ren %systemroot%\softwaredistribution softwaredistribution.bak

ren %systemroot%\system32\catroot2 catroot2.bak

net start bits

net start wuauserv

net start cryptsvc

3. After all these commands are completed, close the Command Prompt window, restart your computer, and then try to update Windows.

If it persists, use the system file checker to repair possible corrupted or missing system files.

1. Open Start and type cmd, right-click on "Command Prompt", and select "Run as administrator".

2. Run the following commands at the Command Prompt one at a time:

dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth

dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup

sfc /scannow

3. Then restart your PC and see if you can update.

If it persists, download and install the update that is having problems manually.
