Try this Windows 10 tip if your Start Menu Tiles Don't Work-Helpful before trying Terminate/Repair/or Reinstalling Tile Apps.

1. Go to Search and type in the problematic APP. It will show in the App List.
2. Select "Unpin From Start." Menu
3. Re-pin the App to the Start Menu.
4. Find the App in your Start Menu.
5. Right click to resize to your preference and drag the App where you want it to be in your Start Menu.

how do i reset the start menu in windows 10 to not show tiles?

A few days ago, my friends Win10 computer stopped showing his desktop and now only shows the tiles (he wants to see the default list of programs, not any tiles).

Clicking on the Windows key or "start menu" doesn't change anything. I stepped him through some online suggestions (including Settings/Start/Use-start-full-screen and making sure Settings/Table-mode was not engaged) but they don't work.

I've also compared his settings (Start/Use-start-full... and Table-mode) to my Win10 machine and they are the same.

Assistance/suggestions would be appreciated.

Not working Windows Start menu tiles could be due to the following:

• App registry issues
• Corrupted files
• Conflict with a third party antivirus

We would like to ask some information to better isolate the issue:

• Did you get any error messages?
• Have you done any changes on your computer prior to the issue?
• Do you have any third-party antivirus? If yes, have you tried turning it off?
