trying to connect two computers in order to get a disabled one online to search for solutions

IObit Driver Booster 6 Pro deleted all of my network connection possibilities except Bluetooth. It also obliterated all of my restore points. Their utility will not recover anything and their tech support now says Microsoft may be my last resort. (Part of the issue is that diagnostic tools and possible solutions are in the cloud, which I cannot reach on that computer, a Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 11s.) I cannot even locate the Network Adapter device.

The only solutions I see offered online involve crossover cables. The problem is my laptop only has jacks for USB and HDMI (and headphones). It appears to me that Bluetooth is my only hope. I have paired the two computers to each other, but I have not been able to get the laptop to "see" the network or the Network to see the laptop. Is there any help out there?

Thanks to anyone who has an idea.

    Deck

    :)

Disable Web Search when I hit Windows Key to Search my Computer

    Hi Larry,

To be able to disable the Web Search when using the searchbox, you need to turn off Cortana. The searchbox will now say "Search Windows" instead of "Ask me anything." It will be more responsive and only show results from your hard drive or local network. To
do this, you can follow the steps below:

    • Login to Windows 10 computer with your Microsoft account.
    • Click on Cortana search bar.
    • In the search box at the bottom, type Disable Cortana.
    • Once the suggestions appear in the list, click Cortana & Search settings.
    • Then turn off Cortana option.

Should you need further assistance, don't hesitate to get back to us.
